The pianist and the composer Yves Léveillé native of Lévis, based in Montreal since 1984, is increasingly called to perform his music nationally and internationally.
In the 90s he decided to put together is own jazz ensemble, dedicated to interpreting his compositions. Six albums by the musician are available on the label Effendi and all of them have been apprised by the critics.
His work was recognized by many Canadian governmental arts organisations and cultural institutions, such as Canada Council of Arts, Montreal Council of Arts and others. In 2004 he was sponsored by the Council of Arts of Québec for his artist in residence stay at Quebec Studio in Manhattan, NY.
The unique album ``Pianos`` highlights the fruitful artistic collaboration between Japanese pianist and composer Eri Yamamoto and Yves Léveillé. The presentation of the musical project was sponsored and presented at Yamaha Salon in New York.
His latest CD ``Chorégraphie`` embraces work of the past three years. It represents the essence of collaborative forces of diverse musical talents of Montreal.
He is well known for his musical compositions as well as for his arrangements and collaborative projects with singers, songwriters, actors and directors.
